Welcome back Brotherhood

Happy New Year

The Book of Colossians gives these words of encouragement: “Think about the things of heaven, not things of earth.  For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God.  And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all His glory.”

Although the world is experiencing problems with the pandemic and life may seem dark and uncertain, remember that God is in charge and He will never leave or forsake you.  It is now that we must allow our lights to shine to draw men, women, boys, and girls to Christ.

We shall resume our monthly Brotherhood Breakfast and Meetings on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 10:00 A.M.

PMBC Brotherhood- Deacon James Golden, Chair

The PMBC Brotherhood would like to invite you to participate with us on the 4th Saturday of each month at 10:00 am for a meeting of Godly men in Bible Study, Breakfast and Fellowship. So please join us as we uplift and offer up praises to our LORD and Savior Christ Jesus during our morning service. All men are welcome.“And if it seems evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land he dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” (Joshua 24:15) Love and Peace Deacon James W. Breaking Chains Continued #2
Breaking chains through strategic prayer.
One man praying can make a major impact.  “The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much”.  (James 5:16).  Prayer is powerful. It is humbly, honestly, respectfully talking to God and a Chain Breaker must learn to become an intercessor.  A man who shows his true dependence on God by faithfully fighting battles in prayer, for himself and his loved ones.  We can begin with the following steps:
...Where sin has crept into your life ——-  repent.
...Where bitterness has taken root in your heart———forgive.
...Where lies have been woven into the script———seek the truth.
...Where traditions have taken precedence———start fresh.
...Where problems have tried to steal and malign ———pray.
...Where hindrances are piling up——-consecrate and dedicate loved ones to God.
So it’s time to move forward. To grow in faith and strength. To take back surrendered ground. To form a bold protective blockade of blessing for our future generations.
Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples.  Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free”. (John 8:31-32 NIV)
By His grace, we can become faithful men of God.

Note from the Brotherhood:

Continuation of “Becoming A Chain Breaker”.
“The  God who made the world and everything in it .......gives all men life and breath and everything else....and He determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live.  God did this so that men would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us.”  (Acts17:24-27 NIV)
Sometimes we won’t reach out to Christ until we are at wit's end.  Such as Peter when he walked on the water and began to sink.  He called for Jesus to save him.   The good thing is knowing whom to call on, the name above all names Christ Jesus our Lord and savior.  There is an old saying that if you keep doing the same things over and ever again and expecting a different result, that’s the definition of insanity.
So as lessons are learned we should not repeat the same mistakes over again and we should teach our loved ones these lessons so they learn from our mistakes.. in other words, become a chain breaker.
There are three kinds of chains present in our lives:
..  Chains that come from nature- our inbred sinful nature we received from our parents (birth)
.. Chains that come from choices- sins we commit ourselves and the bondage that follows
..Chains. That come from nurture-hurtful examples., lies, and worldly traditions we follow
Our next lesson will explore the foregoing three chains in detail.
“Do not be like your fathers and your brothers, who were unfaithful to the Lord God of their fathers, so that He made them a horror...for if you return to the Lord, your brothers and sons will find compassion.” ( 2 Chronicles 30:7,9

Becoming a Chain Breaker (Changing old habits)
“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”  (2Corinthians 5:17)
Greetings my Brothers;
Our second message from our Bible Study deals with breaking old habits.  Our world today is filled with evil and it is easy for us to get caught up in it.   Someone mistreats you and your worldly response is to repay them in kind. (Evil for evil, tit for tat, etc.) However, if you truly believe, in Christ Jesus, and have given your life to Him we must treat others as we would like to be treated. “Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you. (Matthew 5:44)  We are new creations old things have passed away.  When you struggle in this area it is the enemy trying to reclaim you,  so pray to God for guidance and strength and He will fight your battles.  The battle has been fought and the victory gained.  So break those chains of old behavior and repent the moment you feel yourself sliding back.    “The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good.”  (Proverbs 15:3)
May God continue to bless and keep you safe through His grace and mercy.

A Resolution For Men.

The Men Of PMBC Began A Bible Study Called The “Resolution For Men”.  This Is A Roadmap For Becoming An Effective Man Of God.  Our First Scripture Is From  Malachi 4:6 And Is As Follows: “He Will Restore The Hearts Of The Fathers To Their Children And The Hearts Of The Children To Their Fathers So That I Will Not Come And Smite The Land With A Curse.”

We Must Stand On Our Posts As Men Of God To Carry Out The Work He Has Ordained For Us.

Ephesians 5:14-16 States: “Awake, Sleeper, And Arise From The Dead, And Christ Will Shine On You. Therefore Be Careful How You Walk, Not As Unwise Men But As Wise, Making The Most Of Your Time, Because The Days Are Evil.”

This Pandemic Should Be A Clarion Call For The Disciples Of Christ To Share The Good News Of Salvation To The Lost. Surely It Is Time To Be About Our Father’s Business.

Join The PMBC Brotherhood Each Sunday As We Study God’s Word And Offer Up Praises To His Holy Name.  Time Is Winding Up.  Keep The Faith, Peace, And Love In Christ Jesus.
